The Journey Church, which meets at the United Artists Midway Theatre on Sundays, is renting out the local Starbucks to provide the community with free drinks and snacks from the hours of 11:00am to 1:00pm, on Saturday, Feb. 13th.
Free Starbucks will be available to anyone who shows up at Starbucks (107 Continental Ave., Forest Hills), thanks to the Journey Church; which has had a recent surge of attendance at their services due to the music played by their talented band, moving messages from Pastor Mike, and the unity shared by “journeyers” who join together to reflect on their relationship with God.
“From time to time, we just like to do nice things for people in Forest Hills. While we certainly want everyone to come and check out one of our services, we just want to be good neighbors in our community. Plus, who doesn’t love free coffee?” says Mike Cooper, the Lead Pastor of the church.
The Journey Church might not look like a traditional church. Instead of woodenpews, you’ll find comfortable seats with cup holders. You won’t find a choir, but you’ll sing along with the rock-and-roll style music. The pastor doesn’t wear a robe or a collar; he wears jeans. The church refers to itself as “a real church for real people.”
Sunday services are at the United Artist Midway Theatres at 10:30am, and theservice lasts just over an hour.
