In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish Holidays, Commonpoint Queens is looking for volunteers to help deliver holiday packages of challah, apples, and honey to seniors throughout the borough.

The event is set to take place on Sunday, September 13, and will kick off with a Zoom welcome at 10:45 a.m. A virtual tour of the Queens County Farm Museum’s Honeybees will follow at 11:00 a.m. Deliveries leave the organization’s Sam Field Center (58-20 Little Neck Parkway) at 1:00, 1:30 or 2:00 p.m.

Five deliveries will be assigned to each volunteer, and participants are encouraged to come prepared with a handwritten kind message for their recipients. Volunteers are also required to come with at least one other person who can ease parking and help carry the meals to the door.

Prerequisites and Compliance Requirements:

  • Volunteers are required to use their own vehicles for delivery.
  • At least 2 individuals per car.
  • A face mask must be worn when picking up the meals and when approaching the drop off address.
