Forest Hills Foodies: Drink Battle at Exo Cafe

Hey foodies!
We’re happy to introduce our first Friday food review, where we sample classic staples in Forest Hills.
Last week, we stopped by Exo Cafe where the the Lychee-tini and Suffering Bastard battled it out for best drink.
The Lychee-tini consists of Figenza Fig Vodka, dry vermouth, lychee juice, and a lychee fruit placed perfectly at the bottom of the martini glass.
The Suffering Bastard is made with Mount Gay Black Barrel, Bacardi 151, amaretto, triple sec, lime and orange juice, topped off with a cherry.
We team sampled each drink to see which one would win over their taste buds.
After carefully savoring the two signatures, the outcome was a whopping 3-1 vote as the Suffering Bastard defeated the Lychee-tini.
We also split and devoured the cafe’s signature handhelds, the Exo and Chimichurri Handwiches with a side of hand-cut Belgian Fries.
The Exo Handwich is made with grilled chicken, roasted peppers, goat cheese, field greens and roasted garlic pepper sauce.
The Chimichurri consists of garlic marinated skirt steak, provolone cheese, tomato, chopped cilantro and chimichurri sauce.
Both handwiches were overwhelmingly delicious, but we unanimously agreed that there was an impeccable twist to the Chimichurri that made it our favorite.
Exo Cafe is located at 70-20 Austin St. in Forest Hills. Their lunch special goes from 12-4pm starting at $12.95. Happy hour starts right after and ends at 8pm for discounted appetizers, $7 cocktails, $5 beer and wine.
