In Allers’ latest novel, ‘THE BIG LETDOWN‘, she argues that there is a large, unseen network in influencing women’s choices. She leans on her journalistic prowess to “delve into fields as varied as pediatrics, sociology, history, feminism, economics, and pop culture to better understand the social history and modern in influences—some subtle, some blatant—that effect women as infant-feeding decision makers every day.” Allers’ goal in writing ‘THE BIG LETDOWN‘ is to educate women on the forces at work manipulating their decisions about breastfeeding so they can make a clear-eyed decision for their family.
