Suspect in recent Forest Hills robberies arrested – Updated

Inspector Robert Ramos confirmed that the 112th Precinct has arrested the person responsible for recent robberies in Forest Hills.
In the two cases, the suspect targeted older women walking alone.
On Sunday, April 16th, the suspect knocked a 73-year-old woman to the ground and stole her purse before taking off on foot. The victim’s bag contained $130, an iPhone and credit cards. The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. near 67th Avenue and Yellowstone Boulevard.
On Wednesday, April 5, on 67th Road between Yellowstone Boulevard and 108th Street, the suspect approached a 69-year-old woman and pushed her to the ground. The suspect stole the woman’s purse which contained items such as an iPhone, dancing shoes, keys, ID and credit cards. During the attack, the woman felt pain to her right arm and ribs.
The suspect is a woman and is described as white-hispanic, about 25 years old and 5’5”.

UPDATE: 31-year-old Nikki Newmark was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery and one count of petit larceny. According to authorities, she also stole $25 worth of beauty products from the 99 Cents and Up discount store (102-05 Queens Blvd.) on Sunday.
