On Sunday, October 18, members of the Queens Boy Scouts Troop 96 of the Pathfinder District in Forest Hills will participate in an artistic event to help beautify vandalized sites in Long Island City.
The Boy Scouts will collaborate with artist and founder of 7Train Murals, Mark Salinas, to create the two murals. The colorful murals will showcase the skills and techniques the Scouts learned in class and ultimately will help them each earn the Painting Merit Badge.
The session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 32nd Place, between Queens Blvd. and 43rd Avenue.
Other participating troops include Troop 390 from Sunnyside, Troop 201 from Jackson Heights and Troop 153 from Douglaston.
