The 112th Precinct in Forest Hills hosted their annual National Night Out event, drawing hundreds of residents and local organizations together in a show of community solidarity on August 7. The annual event, held on the first Tuesday of August, is part of a nationwide campaign aimed at fostering stronger relationships between police officers and the communities they serve.

This year’s event featured a variety of attractions, including fire safety demonstrations by the FDNY, health screenings by Northwell Health, and engaging activities from local businesses like Verizon and the American Red Cross. Children were entertained by a live balloon maker, while attendees enjoyed food from nearby restaurants and clubs.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to local community members, businesses, and elected officials, highlighting their contributions to neighborhood safety and cohesion. Community Board 6 (CB6) was also represented, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in building safer neighborhoods. National Night Out, celebrated by millions across the country, continues to be a cornerstone of police-community partnerships, promoting neighborhood camaraderie and safety.
