In recent weeks, two more candidates — David Aronov and Edwin Wong — have joined the race to represent City Council District 29, bringing the total number of hopefuls to seven. Evan Boccardi , Eliseo Labayen , Sharon Levy, Howard Pollack and Lynn Schulman are also in the race.
President and founder of the Forest Hills Asian Association, Wong expects to put the collaborative skills he gained advocating for the community to work in the City Council. He has proposed a yearly “State of the District” town hall, followed by quarterly meetings in each neighborhood of the district. A member of Community Board 6’s Youth/Education Committee, Wong will also put a focus on schools in the area.
The Forest Hills Times has published profiles on both Aronov and Wong, further detailing their intentions for District 29.
