Musica Reginae concert canceled due to COVID-19

UPDATE: As of Tuesday morning, Musica Reginae has canceled concerts scheduled for Saturday, March 21, in accordance with state and federal mandates.
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, the group is exercising “an abundance of caution,” postponing it’s 20th Anniversary Spring Jazz Gala until the fall.

On Saturday, March 21, Musica Reginae Productions invites you to The Church-in-the-Gardens for an pair of concerts and community fun.
The evening begins at 4 p.m. with “Composers Then and Now,” an interactive event for kids ages four and up. Guests will create music together, and hear music
written from composer friends from Music Reginae’s young artist showcase from nearly 20 years ago. The free workshop lasts for about an hour, and participants will learn about the history of composing music, while exploring how to incorporate different instruments into their work.
Then, at 7 p.m., award-winning concert artists Kate Dreyfuss (violin), Daniel Constant (violin) and Jessica Constant (cello)- who were some of the first kids featured in Musica Reginae’s orginal series “Tomorrow’s Artists Today” showcase, will take the stage.
Joined by special guests such as Cyrus Beroukhim (cello) and Musica Reginae’s Artistic Director Barbara Podgurski (piano), the group will play a repertoire of solo virtuosic works. The program includes Robert Schumann’s beloved Piano Quintet, in addition to works by classical favorites Debussy, Beethoven, Popper and William Grant Still.
Reception to follow. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students; admission is free for children under 12.
