The Festival of Cinema NYC is back!
From today until August 11, you’ll have a chance to see some incredible films from local neighborhoods and around the world. In fact, check out the lineup and check out the Forest Hills Times’ recommendations.
The festival kicks off tonight with the Opening Night Red Carpet and After Party for the East Coast Premiere of the comedy feature film “5TH OF JULY” starring Jaleel White (of “Family Matters” fame) at 7 p.m. at Regal UA Midway in Forest Hills. The film is directed by Camilo Vila.
“5th of July” Synopsis: While spreading his father’s ashes on a mountain lake, Orlando Leal utters a curse. From that moment onward, the universe turns on him. He gets robbed, psychedelically drugged, pepper sprayed, tased, almost enslaved on a chili farm and now the police are after him too. Can Orlando reverse the curse in time to pick up the love of his life, or lose her forever?
