LIJ Forest Hills Post Partum Unit Opens to Focus on Families/Babies

On Tuesday morning, January 16, nearly 150 celebrated the opening of a 3rd floor PostPartum unit at LIJ Hospital on 66 Rd.
According to Nadine Simmons, director of the unit, the hospital delivered 1996 babies last year and the hospital is putting an emphasis on being ‘top-notch’ at care. They recently received the coveted ‘baby-friendly’ designation.

“We love our mothers and babies,” said Nadine. “Getting 80% of our mothers to breast feed is a goal of ours here at LIJ.”
