The Forest Hills branch of the Queens Library will be temporarily closed due to construction.
The last day of service at the Forest Hills Library will be Friday, April 21.
The approximate timeline for the closing is six weeks. While repairs are being made to the library’s roof, there will be a mobile library providing limited library service at Forest Hills on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The mobile library will start on Friday, April 28.
Other library options include the North Forest Park Library (98-27 Metropolitan Avenue) and the Rego Park Library (91-41 63rd Drive).
The library originally planned on closing in November of last year for the repair work on the leaky roof. However, the project was postponed because it didn’t receive the necessary approvals for the site safety plan, scaffolding, and the use of fuel-burning tools at the time.
The $650,000 project is funded through Council Member Karen Koslowitz.
