Queens Stands Together Rally to be held on Feb. 26

Forest Hills will soon play the host for a Queens unity rally against the recent challenges made against diversity.

The Queens Stands Together Rally, on February 26 at 11 am in MacDonald Park, was organized by local residents Ethan M. Felder, Esq, Mazeda Uddin, Peter W. Beadle, Esq, Prameet Kumar, Mark Laster, Mohammed Naeem, Alexa Weitzman and Edwin Wong.

“In this uncertain time, this is our opportunity to stand together united in solidarity behind #queensvalues,” rally organizers said on a Facebook event page.

Groups scheduled to appear at the public rally include Arab-American Family Support Center, Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, Queens Connection, Jamaica Muslim Center, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and Women’s Action Group of Forest Hills. Council member Jimmy Van Bramer, Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, Public Advocate Letitia James and Council member Karen Koslowitz are all also scheduled to appear.

So far, the event’s Facebook page states that there are more than 400 people who will attend and another 1,300 people who are interested in attending.

MacDonald Park is located on Queens Boulevard between Yellowstone Boulevard and 70th Road.  It is walking distance from the 71st Street/Continental Avenue Subway Station and the Q60 bus.
