Forest Hills Library postpones closing

Contrary to earlier reports, the Forest Hills Library will not be closing down temporarily. Today, November 10th, was the originally planned last day of service for about a month as crews repaired a leaky roof issue.
In fact, the temporary closing of the library won’t occur until March or April of next year, depending on the weather, according to Queens Library’s director of Communications Lisi de Bourbon.
“The reason the project was postponed is that the project has yet to receive the necessary approvals for the site safety plan, scaffolding, and the use of fuel-burning tools,” de Bourbon said.
