Tonight’s the night, Mets fans! The World Series against the Kansas City Royals kicks off tonight as the Mets battle for their third championship.
Yesterday, just a hop and jump away from Forest Hills, friends and families from the area came together to root for their team at a hometown rally in front of Queens Borough Hall. Hundreds of fans showed up as they gathered together to sing classic Mets songs and chant “Beat KC” along with Borough President Melinda Katz and other elected officials.
For families, such as father and toddler son duo Robert and RJ Aponte, the rally served as an unforgettable family bonding experience. Robert, a local resident, is raising his son and daughters to be huge Mets fans so he brought them down to Borough Hall to experience the excitement firsthand.
Play ball guys!
