Neighborhood chain restaurant, Sizzler, will be closing its doors soon.
The restaurant, which is located at 100-27 Metropolitan Avenue, has been forced to close after 20 years due to a soon expiring lease and high rent. An area franchisee ran the restaurant and has been assisting in finding job opportunities elsewhere for the 20 employees who were affected.
“All were paid and the franchisee is referring them to other potential employers,” Brad Ritter, a Sizzler USA spokesman, told a local paper.
Once the establishment closes down, there won’t be a Sizzler restaurant left in New York City. In fact, if you are in the mood for Sizzler’s buffet, the closest restaurant will be over 1,000 miles away in Kissimmee, Florida. The Kissimmee location will be the only one left on the eastern part of the country.
