Dear Editor,

COVID-19 infections are increasing worldwide, including in Queens and Brooklyn. The virus is spreading to over thirty U.S. states. It seems this could be the start of a second wave of the pandemic as winter approaches.

Maybe some people are getting lazy and not doing the right thing, which would be social distancing, wearing face masks and washing hands frequently. I think some people are not taking this pandemic seriously enough, especially the younger generation who thinks they can't come down with this disease.

They don't realize they could bring home the virus and which could kill older family members. I'm a senior citizen and worry about some of these careless people.

America, get smart and do the right thing. We all need to practice common sense, and maybe lives will be saved.

Sincerely,

Frederick R. Bedell, Jr.
