Look, it’s no secret. we’re dealing with scary, strange and uncertain times.

Many of our lives have been thrown upside down from a health, economic and overall wellness standpoint with the ramifications of COVID-19.

On a much lighter note, the lack of sporting events has challenged me professionally in a way that I never could’ve imagined.

How can one find a way to do sports radio on night-in and night-out with no live games to discuss. It’s the unthinkable.

I’ve been put in a position to rely on something that usually comes in handy for longterm projects, but doesn’t exactly work the best for remembering chores or what I ate for dinner.

The last few weeks have put my old-school sports memory to the test in more ways than one.

I’ve challenged my audience to search for diversion by recalling great moments, horrific losses and players that didn’t seem right putting on that second uniform.

I’ve found myself re-watching plenty of old games, but I’ll admit that normally it’s not one of my favorite pastimes.

I’m proud of my memory, but I live in the moment. The next inning, the next snap, the next jump shot.

The moment of today is not there for the world of sports. So what’s next?

Of course, the NFL Draft will arrive in the weeks to come. That will be a much-needed distraction. After the draft, it’s anybody’s guess.

It may seem trivial with everything going on in the world to still be someone talking sports on a nightly basis.

And I acknowledge it has a very trivial feel to it especially at this particular time, but I truly believe for many people out there, it is exactly what they need.

An escape that won’t be found in stadiums across the tristate area. I hope for a few hours, it can be found on WFAN.

Like all of you, we’ll take it day by day and do the best we can.

Stay safe.

You can listen to me overnights from 1 to 6 a.m. on WFAN.
