The 112th Precinct Community Council hosted a street fair near MacDonald Park between Yellowstone Boulevard and 70th Road on Sunday. Residents were able to sample cuisine from local restaurants, and entertainment for the children included balloon artists.

The street fair wasn’t all fun and games, however. The precinct’s Community Affairs officers and Forest Hills Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) were among those providing residents with safety information. Members of CERT also handed out bags full of tips and instructions on emergency preparedness.

“I’m glad that today is a beautiful, sunny day and that we were able to get everyone out their homes to get together,” said Detective Gigi Redzematovic. “It gives me an opportunity to mix and mingle with community, not just through the computer or phone.”
