The Story Pirates are a group of top comedians, musicians, best-selling authors, and world-class teachers who partner with schools to help tens of thousands of kids write original stories.
They adapt the kids’ stories into a critically acclaimed series of books, a sold-out national tour, award-winning albums featuring guest artists like Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the #1 rated podcast for kids and families. Their podcast has been downloaded more than 10 million times.
Through their parents and caregivers, contest participants are invited to submit their original story on a topic that relates directly to the animated movie. In other words, write a story telling the audience what do you think your pets do when the house is empty.
The movie explores the emotional lives of our pets, the deep bond between them, the families that love them and answers the question: What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home?
Parents of the participants, who can be between the ages of four and 18, are invited to submit their stories at: www.storypirates.com/secretlife by September 10th. The winner will be chosen and the winning story will be performed on a special bonus episode of the Story Pirates Podcast. A full cast of Story Pirates will also perform their story for the lucky winner.
