Dear Editor,

A person who is looking for a full-time job that pays a living wage but can't find one is unemployed.

According to the Ludwig Institute for Shared Economic Prosperity, the true unemployment rate in the U.S. is a stunning 26.1 percent, not the 7 percent that President Donald Trump claims. Those are Great Depression numbers.

Yet Republicans refuse to pass another stimulus bill. About 70 percent of our economy is consumption, and if you don't get the money into the hands of the people that need things our country will not recover.

Sincerely,

Robert LaRosa

Whitestone
