Changing lanes

Dear Editor,

I am against all the bike lanes on Queens Boulevard, but With that being said, I am wondering why the Department of Transportation (DOT) held a meeting about the redesigning of Queens Boulevard on January 23 with the residents of Forest Hills?

They did not do that with the people of Woodside, Elmhurst or Rego Park when they just put the bike lanes on Queens Boulevard, so why just the people in Forest Hills? No one interviewed me.

Do you think DOT officials finally realized that these bike lanes do not belong on Queens Boulevard?

Or did Community Board 6 see what a mess these bike lanes made out of Woodside, Elmhurst and Rego Park, and decided they could not afford to lose 198 parking spaces, have stores close, and have the service roads clogged with cars, buses, and delivery trucks?

Just wondering.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Schatz

Rego Park
